Leading the Big Transition

We took a step back into childhood memories as we gathered around a fire pit to create snobrød - a traditional Danish open fire bread, that, if baked correctly and patiently, is absolutely delicious.

We also took a step into history, as we held a meeting inside Niels Bohr’s former office in Copenhagen, as some would say where modern-day physics was born. We stepped into the epicentre of the physics revolution in quantum mechanics, but, as our good friend and PHX catalyst, Charles Marcus, Principal researcher at Microsoft Quantum and professor at the Niels Bohr Institute mentioned, it wasn’t Niels Bohr’s contribution to physics that was his greatest achievement.

Bohr was a teacher, as he gathered young people through a Socratic method and he brought out the best in others. He bridged the gap between East and West and established Copenhagen as THE place where people could gather and exchange ideas.

Our starting point is focusing on people and with PHX we are seeking ways to spark novel ideas and collaborations that we can ignite and support. What better way to get to know each other better than at La Banchina, who embrace similar values with their zero-waste food concept and conscious modern-day cuisine. It was an evening about strengthening existing bonds and celebrating new friendships, as the discussions went from “peak states”, to becoming the most effective version of oneself, and from quantum-inspired social modelling to shifting perspectives in society, to what makes us human.

We aim to connect the unconnected as an original movement in the tech ecosystem. Our words are carefully chosen as we seek to find a balance between globally recognized issues, the status quo and the inevitable convergence of technologies which will radically impact our future.

In the words of our friend and PHX catalyst Charles Marcus: “what links these ideas, is the global realization that we are on a small fragile boat and it has come to the point where we recognize that we are all in this together.”
